What is the FE Waiver?
The Frail Elderly (FE) waiver provides Kansas seniors an alternative to nursing home care. Services include personal care, household tasks, and health services. The program promotes independence within the community and helps to offer residency in the most integrated environment.
Eligibility
To be eligible for the FE waiver, an individual must meet the following criteria:
- Must be 65 years old;
- Meet the Medicaid nursing facility threshold score;
- Be financially eligible for Medicaid.
Enrollment
To apply for the Frail Elderly (FE) Waiver, please start the process by contacting the Aging and Disability Resource Center (ADRC). The ADRC will provide you with Options Counseling and refer you to the Assessing Entity to conduct an FE Functional Eligibility Assessment to determine functional eligibility for the FE waiver.
