New Kansas ABLE Savings Plan helps individuals save, while preserving their SSI and Medicaid.

An Achieving a Better Life Experience (ABLE) account is a tax-advantaged savings plan for individuals with disabilities that can be used for qualified expenses, including education. To be eligible, the disability must have begun before age 26. ABLE funds can be used for expenses like tuition, fees, and even basic living costs. Contributions to an ABLE account are not counted as assets for Supplemental Security Income (SSI) or Medicaid eligibility for up to $100,000 in the account.
